A D.C. Superior Court judge has sentenced a Washington man to 18 years in prison for the 2024 fatal stabbing of Antonio Pierre Woody in Northeast Washington.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said Kevin Johnson pleaded guilty February 24 to second-degree murder while armed. His plea agreement provided for a prison term between 18 and 23 years. Judge Rainey Brandt imposed the 18-year sentence July 31 and ordered five years of supervised release.

According to the official release’s account of court documents, the attack occurred during the early morning of October 6, 2024, outside 1719 Lincoln Road NE and an adjacent parking lot. Police arrested Johnson after a shelter security worker identified him. Johnson’s guilty plea and sentence establish his legal responsibility; the release does not identify any future hearing or planned appeal.
