San Diego homicide detectives have arrested a 26-year-old man in the fatal stabbing of Corey Shine on a downtown sidewalk.

The San Diego Police Department said officers responded to an assault-with-a-deadly-weapon call in the 300 block of Park Boulevard at about 10:12 p.m. July 15. Officers found Shine lying on the sidewalk with an apparent stab wound. Police and Fire-Rescue personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Shine died.

Investigators said the assault followed an altercation over personal property. Police identified Marques Kelly as the suspect and arrested him July 26. Kelly was booked into San Diego County Jail for murder. The official release does not establish guilt.
